This program is designed for passionate yoga practitioners and teachers who are eager to explore the deeper aspects of yoga philosophy and learn how to integrate these timeless principles into their lives both on and off the mat.

What You Will Learn:

  • The foundational principles of yoga philosophy, focusing on the 8 Limbs of Yoga.
  • How to live by the Yamas (ethical guidelines) and Niyamas (personal disciplines) both on and off the mat.
  • The importance of meditation (Dhyana) as a tool for cultivating mindfulness, self-awareness, and clarity.
  • How to integrate yoga philosophy into your teaching, practice, and daily life.
  • Practical tools for applying the Yamas and Niyamas in real-life situations and using them to enhance your yoga practice and teaching.

  • 10 hours of instruction, split over two days (5 hours per day).

Program Schedule:

Day 1: Friday May 9th | 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM

  • 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Introduction to Yoga Philosophy
    Overview of yoga’s origins, relevance, and core principles.
    • The 8 Limbs of Yoga.
  • 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: The Yamas: Ethical Guidelines for Personal Conduct
    In-depth study of the 5 Yamas: Non-violence, Truthfulness, Non-stealing, Moderation, Non-attachment.
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: The Niyamas: Cultivating Personal Discipline
    Understanding the 5 Niyamas: Cleanliness, Contentment, Discipline, Self-study, Surrender.
  • 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Q&A and Group Discussion

Day 2: Saturday May 10th | 2:30 PM - 7:30 PM

  • 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM: The Power of Dhyana (Meditation) in Yoga
    Understanding Dhyana as mindfulness practice.
    • Guided meditation practice and integration of meditation in teaching.
  • 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM: Yoga in Action: Applying Philosophy to Teaching
    Practical ways to integrate the Yamas and Niyamas into yoga classes.
    • Creating meaningful yoga sequences based on these principles.
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Integrating Philosophy into Daily Life
    Living yoga philosophy outside the studio.
    • Reflective journaling and discussions on daily practice.
  • 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Final Reflection & Closing
    Group sharing, final reflections, and actionable steps.
